Celebrating love and family time....

My daughter and I spent some time this weekend crafting Valentine's Day tags, cards and decorations using watercolor paints.

I love the color palette of paints that we played with from Djeco. I hadn't used watercolors since our trip out east last summer where we like to lounge on the beach with our watercolors and capture the beauty of P.E.I.

Anyways, the crafting was a nice break from all the purging and organizing to get ready for our spring renovation. I've been so busy lately I haven't made enough time to craft with the kids. A friend of mine has inspired me to get back to carving out that creative time again. We used to craft regularly but have somehow lost that routine.

A paper lantern hanging in my daughter's room that we painted with watercolor paint. It looks so pretty in the sunshine!
The kids also decorated cookies with Nanna this weekend.

I was poking through a box of vintage valentine's and found these. Aren't they sweet?

We don't do a lot of Valentine's decor but I do try to add pops of red here and there like the vintage stamps, dice and eiffel tower displayed in this antique printers tray.

We always encourage the kids to make their own cards. It's extra work but who doesn't love a handmade card from a child?

Happy Valentine's Day to you!
